What this site is

Smart Finds and Services collects products worth knowing about across the home, work, travel and everyday life. Each recommendation is written by hand: what the product does, the specifications the maker publishes, who it may suit and what is worth considering before buying.

The site is published by the JaysonTech team as a separate project from its other sites. It is not a shop; nothing is sold here and no orders are processed on this site.

How recommendations are made

We start from a task rather than a product, read published specifications instead of marketing copy, and leave out anything we cannot verify. The process is set out in full in our guide on how we choose products.

What you will never find here

• Invented ratings, reviews or testimonials
• Copied Amazon customer reviews or product descriptions
• Countdown timers, false scarcity or invented discounts
• Hard-coded prices — prices live on Amazon, where they stay current
• Promises about results a product will deliver
